Engine swap
The engine in my 96 f250 lost all oil pressure, and I am wanting to swap in my spare engine. I got it on the engine stand and realized it has split shot AB code injectors. The engine came out of a 97 cut-away van.
Now for the questions. What needs changed from van to truck? Can I use the pcm from the van in my truck so that I don' have to change injectors (the injectors in the f250 have 305,000mi on them and we'e going out)? Is the oil cooler different? |
I would take all the accessories off the truck engine and put them on the van engine.... Only swapping out the long blocks.
You could get those AB injectors rebuilt to whatever you want... |

I would guess the van pcm will run the splits just fine. Are they both auto's?

Finally got it it running. The van California split shot pcm will not work in the truck without reading pinning a bunch of wires. Had to go back to AA injectors.
And on a side note the van parts that have to changed to fit in a truck are left exhaust manifold, oil cooler, and motor mounts. |
