Airlift Compressor location
Getting ready to install my airbags tomorrow and looking for thoughts on location for the compressor. I have watched the EpicCowlick video but am looking for other locations.
My Airlift 5000 Ultimate compressor is mounted underneath my rear passenger door, drivers side on my Crew Cab. There is a really nice open spot right there where you can mount directly to the frame.
I removed the DEF tank and mounted my compressor there. Not for everyone of course but its alot of space once that tank is removed.
Installed my bags today now I'm contemplating on which onboard system to order and where to mount. I'd really like to add a tank to air up tires also but it down at sound like the AL comp. Has the duty cycle or cfm
I mounted my compressor above the spare tire.
As per Epic video here, above spare tire but I went even a little more "protected" as I was wanting to hide the compressor from any splash up that could occur. The bracket (shelf) up against the bed works great as a shield, a bit harder to install is all.
I have installed the pump above the spare tire in the last two trucks. Each time, pulled the pump upon selling the truck, and the pumps looked brand new.
I got my bags installed today ( wow those wheels are heavy) but after looking at places to install the pump I gave up temporarily. I do not do too well on my back under vehicles.
I also have mounted mine above the spare on my 2011 and 2015 trucks. With over 200,000 miles driven, It has worked flawlessly.
I’d like to install a tank as well. I have a Vair system on my JK, having the ability to air up tires is handy. Also, need to find a good place to mount the air hose coupler.
I’m thinking about the Firestone wireless set up. This the only wireless system that I could find .

There is a nice big spot on the passenger side frame to mount the wireless air compressor. Its been there for a yr on my truck and works great.

This is the one I bought
https://www.airliftcompany.com/produ...s/wirelessair/ Thanks, but I meant wireless with a tank. I don’t think that setup is compatible with a tank. I want to be able to fill tires too. |
Do not split the air bags one pressure for the bags and one pressure for the tank. The only reason to split is for an uneven load.
