Check for power at key on at the inertia switch in the passenger kick panel.
There will only be power momentarily after the key is switched on so set up your meter so you can see it and turn the key at the same time or get someone to turn the key for you. If you get 12V out of the inertia switch it is time to swap the fuel pump. |
smack the tank with a 2x4. Seriously. If the battery was dead and you tried to crank it, the brushes and commutator in the fuel pump may have arced and are not making contact.

As mentioned above, check the intertia switch behind the passenger side kick panel. Check for power before and after the switch. If there's no power going to the switch, then it points toward the relay. If there is power coming out of the switch, then it points toward the fuel pump. |
The 2000 has the serviceable relay behind the radio. Off the top of my head, it was 02 or 03 when they went to the non-serviceable (easily) relay in the CJB.
