Fuel tank

Filled my 97 f250 up yesterday, drove to get something to eat, came out from eating to a puddle of diesel fuel and the tank with a pretty steady drip. Is there any difference I the diesel vs gas tanks for our obs trucks? Is it a diesel specific tank?

The tanks are the same between the gas and diesel. The only issue you might run in to is if your front tank is plastic. I don't think anyone reproduces that tank.

it's a metal tank. While it's out I am going to go ahead and replace my driver side cab mount bushings. I dI'd the passenger side last spring, but didn't feel like dropping the tank to get to the driver side.

Make sure where the leak is coming from. The clamp for the full hose may just need to be tightened

Gas and Diesel tanks are technically different. Its the filler neck that is different. Gas has a small ring for the breather tube. I have a gas version in my diesel truck, i just ripped that piece out so the diesel fill hose will fit.

it's defiantly got a hole in the bottom, it's a steady stream running. I'm almost suspect that someone may have purposely put a hole in it. I'll know more when I get the skid plate off it.

Oh crap that is not good. As a temp fix you can buy epoxy putty for fuel tanks. The good stuff will even stop an active leak. Good luck

I found a brand new tank on Amazon for like 65$

When mine had a leak, it was from small rocks getting caught between the skid plate and the tank... Crappy design.

I have an extra plastic front tank if you need one.

When I did my tanks , I built in 1.5" of space between the skid and tanks.
