0 fuel pressure, but truck starts and idles like junk. STRANDED
 

Hey fellas, I purchased the beans efuel kit pre 2014(they changed somethings in 2014) I have it with the old Bosch 044.
well the pump has now failed for the second time, at least I'm assuming it's the pump because I have zero fuel pressure and I can barley get above 35 mph.
the pump dose not make any noise at key on as well(used to hum like a sob) 1st one failed the same way.

well my question to yall is any one know of other fuel pumps that will hook up to the fittings that beans diesel uses?

I'm stuck in the desert, local napa is willing to get me anything but can't get a Bosch 044, if any one knows another fuel pump that will drop into the beans kit please let me know.

the pump is available on Amazon, but it's a glitch you can't send it anywhere. Otherwise I would of purchased the same ole sh1tty pump just to get home.

Screw beans diesel, research has shown me this pump is not combatiable w diesel yet they sell it with their kit.

Is there power at the pump? Have you tested for power? to make sure its not a bad oil pressure sensor switch (if you used that to interlock you pump) or relay or ground?

I believe this it the pump used in the Barnone kit. Its from a 99+ 7.3L. Im at 25k or so now with no issues. I'm sure you could make you own adapters to get it to work. Rubber line and hose clamps can be used temporarily.

I think Nick (nossilw) had this exact same issue. Maybe PM him and see what he figured out? I wish I could be of more help. ReBilld also uses a good pump with his kit that should fit those connections. PM him as well.

So w further research only pumps in town I can get till wed are rated at 11 psi max, would that work w these trucks? Since the Bosch 044 is rated at 72.5 psi?

No one has a super duty pump? 11PSI will not get it. Mine runs 67 psi.

I haven't been able to conform if the sd pump will fit in the bracket that comes w the beans e fuel kit. And if it can be run vertically.

Sorry I do not know any thing about the beans set up but I would think the diameter of the pump would be close if not the same. and it the 044 ran vertical I see no reason the super duty pump would not. As stated before you may have to change to hose and clamps.

So i jist spoke w the local napa they caan get a SD pump by tmnrw in the mor Ming. Problem is he said it's rated for 9-11 psi. But obviously that has to work. And the reason maybe these e fuel kits come w 65+ psi pumps is too give the hpop a brake???

A super duty 7.3l pump from a 2000 will produce way more than 9-11 psi. Something is wrong. Parts guy needs to take another look in my opinion.

your most likely right, he's going off the computer. He was telling me, that the fuel pump provides around 11 psi and its the hpop that pressurizes everything to 65 psi

Sounds like he is looking at the oil pump and not the fuel pump. Fuel has nothing to do with the hpop.

You may need to talk to him again and say F U E L pump. LOL
