My first mod is a must do IMO
It's the seatback release by Builtright industries.
Before I had this, putting down the driver's side rear seatback was a major PITA. How on earth are you supposed to get your hand back there behind the seatback to feel for that little nub of a pin, and then get enough force on it to release? What was Ford thinking? This latch extender makes it so easy! The hardest part of doing this was having to run out and buy a Torx T30 bit since my kit seem to have everything else but that one bit. Two thumbs up! https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...b2f9085986.jpg |
So why doesn’t Ford want us back there anyway? The passenger side seat has a release strap.

I was all set to order this a couple weeks ago - then I went out and tipped the seat forward, and found that space was all full of power amp and woofer. Great idea if you don't have that stuff - and truthfully, should have been built that way to begin with. I really miss the space that was available behind the seats of my 2002 F-250.

But for those days when I don't want to throw whatever I'm carrying in the bed of the truck, and I don't want it to mess up the nice leather seats, I can now put the seatbacks down and throw it on top of the back of the seats. How often is that going to happen? Probably not often, but at least I can get behind the seat now without having to be Houdini. |
Whut?
I didn't know the left side rear folded down! Wonder if I can move my highlift jack there? |

This was one of my first mods too. Once I found out there was a latch I had to have access. Probably never use the space, but felt deprived somehow :)

I've not yet been able to get my hand down behind the seat back and disengage the latch... WTH!! I watched a video but just can't seem to make it work.

What nuctrooper said. No need for a strap.

I bought the same kit a few weeks ago. Everyone should get one. Also I learned that the back seats can lock in the down position to make the under the seat storage lockable.

How do they lock down? I thought my salesman told me that too. |

Okay, I see it. There is even a lock symbol and an arrow. I was about to ask how to operate, but then I remembered the key in my fob. Works perfectly. It’s fun finding new things about my truck! Thank you.
