Anyone use Move Bumpers?

I'm going to get a set of Move Bumpers for my 78 F250 and wonder if anyone has a set and what they think. I haven't found any bad experiences and the price is right. I'm going to be putting a big winch on so I'm also wondering what I can do to upgrade the bumper a bit. I'm thinking about adding some gussets around the winch mount and also on the end caps just in case. I figure an extra $20 in metal and 20 minutes of weld time won't hurt.

The site is Movebumpers.com. Good looking bumpers and great prices.

They do make pretty nice stuff - I've seen their complete ones, they do a nice job, and I've seen their "kits" - they're very well made as well, nice sharp cuts, clean edges, easy to put together. I've seen a couple that guys have put together, slightly modified (good reason to get the kit), and they looked good.

I’ve gone to they’re website a couple of times to look at them but I haven’t/cannot find any pictures of how they look on a dent side. Anyone got any pics?

I like the flat top on it and the winch set up. I don’t like the other ones with a more angled top. I like the flat top to give me a footing to stand on when working on the truck.

Thanks, Shortbox4x4

They are pretty cool bumpers, I also have looked at them. I like how they let you option them out with the cut outs for lights. Want the front and rear, just have not bit the bullet yet. Would love them in the black wrinkle paint.

Alas, it's not my truck. Just a random google result. I'd give em a call and ask.

Pricing and questions on bumpers

I was able to get a hold of MoveBumpers today. Talke to Chris. Was very helpful and knowledgeable. If I remember everything correctly here is what he told me.

The bumper in the picture on the thread is the classic series. The one shown is the classic with winch of course.

The classic series are flat on the top. Not the tapered/angled top. I told him that if I we’re to get one I wanted mine flat on the top. He said again that is correct that the classic series are flat on the top.

He said the kits/precut parts are very well done (which I have heard) and that as long as you have half way decent welding skills it will go together nicely. In my case my oldest son is a welder and we have a nice welder so I’m golden there!

I asked him about pricing and shipping and lead times. So lead times right now for a bumper is like 4-5 days. He said not real busy right now. Shipping is a flat $75 on the classic series type bumpers. The more involved bumpers where they weigh more are a little higher to ship.

Pricing....here is where I think it got good. At least they offer some sort of discount etc...

Pricing is on there website is good for one bumper etc...

They do offer a group buy type pricing and everything broke down like this.

If you buy 4 to 5 bumpers they take $100 off. The only part I’m not clear on is if that was per bumper or a total of $100. I think it was a total. Not per bumper.

For 6-10 bumpers you would get a 12% discount and I think that was per bumper.

For 11+ bumpers they give a 15% discount.

The only catch though is and if I understood it correctly is that on a group buy they had to ship to one location. Which I think would be hard to coordinate with guys from multiple states.

So I would like to get one here in the near future. I don’t know if anyone would be open to a group buy or not and if it can be worked out? If anyone has any thoughts at all let us know.

Later, Frank
