Knocking in oil pan
 

2000 V-10. 210,000 sat for a couple months started it this morning nothing when first started then knocking in the pan top side sounds great not rhythmic comes and goes trying to decide if it’s major or just cold and old and needs to warm up and work. Any input would be apprciated.

Can you test oil pressure with a mechanical gauge? Might help with diagnosis. I think factory gauge is an idiot light.

Next time you start it look the belt through the wheel well if you can, see if you can see it jumping around. My 2013 6.2 will make noise sometimes like what you are describing after sitting for a long period.
