I have a 1988 F150 with a 5.0. Where is the oil pressure sending unit? I've looked all over the engine, but I can't find it. It is nearly impossible to see the back of the engine, so if it is back there, how do I get at it? Any help would be appreciated.

On my '89 5.0, the sending unit is mounted directly above the oil filter.

On my engine it was just to the left of the oil filter. if you are standing against the driver side fender, run your fingers about an inch or two to the left (toward the front if the truck) of the oil filter. It's recessed quite a bit. I could not see it though as it was too low on the engine and too far back underneath the exhaust manafold...I had to feel around and see with my fingers. If you don't already have one, you'll need a special socket to remove the sending unit with, but they're not very much money...

P.S. be very careful when you remove the wire and boot that connects to it. I broke the boot off and ripped the wire out of it on my truck, so i had to rig something up...which is very hard to do when you are working blind.
