Changing the PCV valve would not hurt. I'd also try running a High Mileage 5w-30 oil in it for a couple oil changes. The extra viscosity when hot isn't going to do anything but help and the high mileage oil has seal conditioners in it which may help to reduce some of the leakage if it is the valve guide seals.

post 14 I indicated the new PCV valve.
I don’t like heavier oil because i enjoy the .2mpg increase. (Totally kidding)

I saw you got another PCV valve. All I have been running in modulars (4.6l-6.8l) for over a decade now is either 5w-30 or 0w30. If you live where it gets close to or below zero a lot, the 0w30 makes a difference. All the of those engines are not as "seasoned" as yours either.

it’s rare that my vehicle smokes. If it was more regular I would consider changing the oil weight. Since it happens five minutes out of every five hours I don’t think the oil is to blame.
