Painting the cardboard cab liner for '48-'52

I have a Dennis Carpenter cab liner kit for my '49 F4 in brown. Is it possible to repaint these pieces? If so, what type of paint should I use and how would I prep it for the new paint? I am thinking of spraying it a tan color if possible.
Thanks,
Mark

SEM here's an ebay link, but one of my local upholstery shops carry individual cans at retail.

I just used the SEM paint to refresh the firewall covering on a '46 Tudor and can report that it works great!

I have used SEM vinyl paint for many years now, I was first introduced to it in the 70s when most cars had vinyl tops. Worked great on tops and stood up well to the harsh SoCal sun. I even sprayed my parents recliners, made them look like new and they matched each other which made Mom happy.

So, to be sure, this SEM product will work on an original cardboard type firewall pad in my 55 F350?

The eBay ad says it is "good to match, restore, or change color on most vinyl surfaces, flexible and rigid plastics, carpet and velour."

It does not say cardboard. Advice? Thanks.

Abe there are few guarantees in this world but based on others replies I would feel that if it works well on a 46 Tudor firewall covering that you can bet that it will work equally well on a 55 F250 firewall pad.

Abe, the firewall covering on a '46 Tudor is identical to that used on the Bonus Built and later trucks. Be sure to wash the surface prior to paint.

Thank you all for the replies. I will check out SEM paint. I have a body shop supply store not far from me, maybe they carry it.
Thanks again,
Mark

If you can't find it there then it's always available on Amazon and/or ebay. Since I got Amazon Prime I have gotten real lazy about driving to the store...a couple of clicks online and either later that day or the next the brown truck pulls up and voila!

I bought seats today from a '06 Explorer for my F4. They are a tan cloth with very nice upholstery. I compared them with the cab liner as is and the colors go well together, so I may not need to paint it after all. I do appreciate all the replies!
Thanks again,
Mark
