Which "super Duty" bug shield ?
Ford shows 2 of the smoke ones. One sticks on with 3M tape, the other is a "no drill" hardware. I didn't really want a bug guard, but after 3 weeks I already have a paint chip on the front of the hood. The chip is tiny, but the truck is Shadow Black and the primer underneath is white. Funny, the Ram 3500 I traded in was white, with black primer,it looked like a dog with fleas.

Might try some xpel self healing paint protection. I have it on my motorcycle saddlebags and if I drag my foot over the bag lid by mistake in the morning it's healed itself and looks like it never happened.

I just removed my bug shield, the no drill hardware one, to paint the mounting brackets so they would stop making rust run across my headlights. There is a rubber strip behind the shield to keep the space between the hood and shield. Dirt got in there and started sanding the paint off. I may just get a clear bra on the hood.

I'm waiting for the parts to be plated or get some sort of coating before I buy.

If I remember right when I got mine, the stick on one has "super duty" in raised letters. The bracketed one is inset. I have the bracketed one. Looks nice but after reading this I will have to take a look at the brackets to see if they are corroding.
