New to CO, what about emmissions?

Hello All! Just moved into far west side of the Denver area, Superior from the Peoples Republic of California. Is there any emissions testing for diesel trucks? Is it like CA where they turn on your truck and look for smoke on startup and kick the tires. 75$ please. Visual and / or tailpipe? Can I finally remove the EGR valve and worry about it any more? Thanks in advance!

I'd check the aircarecolorado.com website. They are generally pretty friendly to call too, and ask any questions. They should be able to point you in the right direction. What year is the truck? Would it qualify for classic status? Welcome. Colorado will probably begin to remind you more and more of California since so many California folks are moving here, and Texas. Texolofornia?

This will help answer some of your questions.

The requirements vary from county to county.
In Elbert county, no emissions for anything
I moved to El Paso and now, no emissions for gas, but emissions required for diesels within a certain distance from Colorado Springs.

If you meant you are in Superior, then that is Boulder County
Here is your info....

You likely have emissions. I am new to this group, but when the warranty runs out on my 16 F350 SRW 6.7, I plan to do a DPF delete with a tune. I don't have to worry about emissions because i am in Elbert county.
