Saw this on instagram and another forum. Thought I'd share as this is good news to those that didn't know.

Seems like an awful big change in the middle of a production year. I wonder they didn't put them n in job 1 engines.

Says was upgraded for job 2. Funny thing is this engine been out since 2011. Why so long to change rods?

It would be for an upcoming power increase ;)

The attached photo is from a 2017 Super Duty brochure. Based on the information shown I believe all of the 2017 engines have the upgraded rods, not just the job 2 trucks.

Most of the chatter about this is on the 6.7 Facebook page.

I'd really like to know more about this. I have a Job 1 truck. The style on the right definitely looks like the same 2011-2016 rod. The style on the left looks stronger.

So the question becomes...can anyone definitively say the 2017 trucks did not get this rod until Job 2 started? If that is the case, what changes were made to the rods for the Job 1 2017 engines that the brochure alludes to?

This pic is from misterscotty in the 6.7 motor issues thread. He said his truck is a job 1 build. Looks like the older rod to me.

This may be another example of believing everything you hear or read.

Could be.... Or it could also be confirmed by a few credible sources including the guy who actually set the powdered metal press up at AAM to produce these upgraded rods for Ford.
