Looking at F-350, how much would you pay?

Looking at this F-350, 7.3, Crew Cab. Price seems to high for me. Wanting $13,000.
With all available options for an XLT F-350, KBB shows $8157 in Excellent condition.

What do you guys think?

people ask ridiculous prices for these trucks because they know they will find a sucker to overpay for them.

Somewhat local to me there's a guy asking over $20K for a similar truck.

That confirms what I was thinking. I hate throwing out low-ball numbers but I was hesitant to think it was near the asking price.

And don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful truck and I love it, but I was thinking it was too high.

Always enjoy the feedback from wiser members!

One of very few Ford drivetrain setups I've not owned at some point. Though, like most, I would love to. The reason I haven't? The market is ridiculous for these trucks. As said above, it's priced over $13,000 because there are a whole lot of comparables priced similarly.

Is it worth it? No, not in my opinion. However, with vehicles this age and older, the value is determined more by the supply / demand than by any formula based on it's original price minus depreciation. I don't think KBB is a good resource for anything older than 10 years or so.

With all that said, it's also tough to determine it's worth without knowing the mileage, service history, and seeing something other than the low quality pics provided by the seller. Assuming it's a 200k+ mile truck, I'm putting it closer to $9,000 being fair. And personally I still think it's crazy people pay that.

I think that truck would sell for close to that price in the rust belt if it's rust free. It's very hard to find a rust free (or close to rust free) OBS CC around here. That's why I flew down to NM to get one. The 7.3's are pretty desirable too. The big thing would be maintenance.
