Right Rear Blinker/Brake Shorted 08 6.4L
 

2008 - F550 6.4L - Just purchased from a neglected home - Right rear brake and blinker are shorted out. I have located the burned wire, removed all of the poor wiring back to the factory harness (wires look clean) checked & replaced fuses and relays. Both the trucks RH rear blinker and brake and RH Trailer blinker & brake are not functioning. LH rear and both LH & RH front are working normally. Any assistance would be HUGE!

Good luck. Sorry that I can't offer much help. In my area, Uhaul places are experts at getting trailer lights working for really cheap.

Are you sure the bulbs aren't burned out? Are you using a tester?

I appreciate the input but seriously doubt if u-haul could do much with this one. The previous owner installed A-flat bad and did a very poor wiring toe in from the factory harness out to led's. 1 of the leads shorted on the exhaust and cause an additional short upstream somewhere.

I have tested the wiring all the way to the fuse Box. Either the fuse Box also shorted out or the 08's have a Flasher as some forums disagree with. Oddly enough I purchased one from the local auto store specifically for the truck. I'll track the noise to find out where the flasher is located.

Starting with a known good usually works out well.
