Sorry for the slow response. If I'm not mistaken after looking at mine that is the upper auxillary gas tank strap since it looks just like mine so you could discard it if you wanted to but I wouldn't at this point. Yes the 460 did haul a** in the day. Hope to do what you're doing to mine someday but with one boy off to college and another right behind it will be awhile. That color red is called candy apple red. Are you going to keep it that?

probably not gonna keep the red. Although that is not completely out of the question.

continuing my build and I ordered brake lines from LMC, which turned out to come from inline tubing . I'm really confused as to the differential/proportioning/meter valve and the distribution block. can anyone recommend a master cylinder with the correct valve on it and also the distribution block that bolts on to the frame.

I have searched FTE for two hours with no luck I can only get the search function to search for words only, not brake distribution or chrome brake booster . Google is no help either everything pulls up to 72 model pickup.
I'm sure could use some help.

Excellent work there, that dash bezel looks awesome. I will be changing the whole front panel of my bed this winter because someone had something heavy in the bed and kinked it badly in 3 spots.Keep up with the updates. Thanks.

Nice work.
Sorry I cant help on the brake question. May want to start a post for just that question as people may not look in here and see it.

You will love the Cal trac bars. I have a set on my drag car and work great, little adjustment makes a big difference.
Thing is will you have enough adjustment to put that top bar on the top of the spring? I see you have a lot of space before the bar sits on the spring and why I ask.
When the rear rotates it pushes the bar forward and in turn pushes the triangle plate forward that then pushes that top bar into the top of the spring.

I have also been working on my bed but is a little different setup than yours.
I have a flare side but using a style side floor in place of the wood.
I also need to replace that lower part of that front panel.

Is the a patch for the lower part or a full front panel cut down to what you needed to replace?

It is a full panel cut down. I was afraid of taking the whole thing apart, and the rest of panel is fine. The replacement panel is really thin compared to the original. Thanks for the input on the caltracs. They are adjusted all the way back at the moment I'm waiting to get the truck completely together before I adjust them.. fingers crossed.

That's gonna loo pretty sweet with a style side bed. I searched and searched for a rust free short bed with no luck. Good luck on your project.

Hello val
I purchased inline tubing brake lines too. my proportional valve block was on the steering box but the line came as if it was mounted on the frame. I called inline and they stated that is where it should be located. Go figure. I found a seller on ebay that sale a bracket to mount it in the correct location so the lines will work. too bad this was after i messed up some or the line to make them work. hope this save you some grief.

I'm currently in the middle of a build.1974 f100 xlt 2wd. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...0-2wd-swb.html

I am at the point of trying to figure out the brakes, I purchased stainless lines from LMC which turned out to be from inline tubing. My original setup had the proportioning valve under the MC, and the new lines that I have terminate behind the steering box on the frame.

https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...ef0032f861.jpg

I have searched a ton and have become more confused. I have disc brakes front and drum rear. I am looking for a chrome brake booster/MC combo and also the correct proportioning valve that will work at the frame. any help with this would be greatly appreciated. thank you for your time.

I actually posted this in misc / brakes and with 60 views and no ideas I thought I would try it here.
I'm sorry if this is not allowed. I have searched for over a week, FTE, Google, Ebay, etc. any help would be greatly appreciated.
