Insurance Costs

I just received my Insurance bill for the next 6 months for a total of only 1400.00

I have full coverage with 500.00 deductible on two cars
2011 FX4
2017 Subaru Forester

Seems outrageous, but curious what others are paying?

Thanks

Hey, there. I work for a State Farm agency licensed in Virginia, and have worked P&C insurance for almost 5 years now. While it's all good and well to poll the audience to see who's paying what, any comparison you'll make is gonna be about as apples-to-oranges as it gets, for several factors:

1) Each state has its own insurance regulations, rate structures, and risk factors (ie, NC vehicles are at a higher risk to sustain hurricane damage than a vehicle in Michigan).

2) Even within a state, city areas tend to demonstrate a higher propensity for accidents than rural areas. Sometimes moving just a few blocks or miles can influence your rates.

3) Obviously, everyone has varying motor vehicle records, as well as other individual factors.

All that being said, FWIW, My wife and I have a '13 F-150 STX and an '07 Subaru Impreza. $100 comprehensive and $250 collision deductibles, and we pay just under $450 every six months. We have no at-fault accidents or moving violations in the last 5 years.

BTW, if you haven't already done so, check out www.badgeofownership.com to get an awesome little freebie from Subaru for your Forester. I had an '01 Forester and carried the "badge" on mine, and my wife's Impreza has it, too :-X06 For the record, I love Subaru cars every bit as much as Ford trucks :-jammin

You will get replies that are all over the board for many reasons.

My 2011 F-150 is $1,440 every 6 months or $240/month with full coverage and $500 deductible and uninsured.

My '02 Excursion with liability and uninsured only is another $115/month

My '06 Chrysler with full coverage, $500 deductible and uninsured is about $180/month

So I spend $535/month on insurance. 28, single, clean driving record in Anchorage,AK. Last claim was in 2009.

So to me, you are getting a heck of a deal!

2014 F-150 and 2012 Fusion, full coverage on both with 100/ 300 and $500 deductible, uninsured motorists, roadside assistance and rental reimbursement is $1600.00 every 6 months. That's way down south in hurricane ally Louisiana.

Here in central California, for my 2014 F150 full coverage(?) but without towing or rental car $600 every 6months.

used it once, last month to replace windshield when it got a crack that started to spread @ $100 deductible.

then again I'm 58, single, no kids , gotten stopped recently once for DUI(I don't drink or ?) and got a ticket once as a teen (they put rubber in tires to make smoke, right?)

I know when we moved here (North Carolina) from a little hole in the wall in Southern Missouri our insurance went up drastically.
And since we're moving back this weekend I'm expecting it to go back down.

Unk Bob :-X04

Thanks James, I appreciate that buddy. :-X22
I'm triple checking myself before we hit the road Friday afternoon. Wife's 08 Escape and my F150 have been run through the ringers. Tires rotated and balanced, all of the fluids are good, replaced my truck's air filter a few weeks ago. And a monster dose of RainX on all of the glass. I love that stuff!

Unk Bob:-wink

I just tried some Armor-All Glass Wipes on mine last night, simply because they happened to be included in a Car Wash kit that I got for Christmas a couple years back that I'm just now opening....lol. They did fine for me, but they didn't exactly change my life or anything. I was very impressed with the Armor All Car Wash soap that was included in the same kit, however. Seemed to bring a lot of shine to the body :-X06

I'm a hard core Meguires fan. Everything other than the glass cleaner I use, inside and out is Meguires.

I really like the Meguire's Car Wash myself. It's some of the best I've ever used.
