There was residual crud in the line with the electric fuel pump that was causing a the truck to run lean and cut out. After unclogged the carb jets and installing new fuel filters it is running fantastic.

Glad you got it going and that it was something relatively simple! :)

I purchased a FE Flywheel Housing Inspection Cover. P/N C3AZ-6366-A during my Black Friday shopping trip to the pick a part yard and installed it, so I can cross that off the to-do list.

I took the truck out for its longest drive since I've owned it today. We took a couple of household items that my in-laws had been storing at our house out to them today.

We went about 110 miles, mostly on the freeway with a bit of stop and go traffic one way. The truck ran great, with the temperature holding steady the entire time. I filled up with gas and calculated that I got a consistent 8mpg on this tank.

Good score in the inspection cover. And great to see these trucks at work!

Today I bid farewell to the 73 regular cab.

This truck served its purpose of getting the crew cab back on the road with the automatic transmission and other knickknack parts like the bumper.

I ended up selling it to a gentleman who lives in the town I grew up in so I'll probably see it from time to time when I visit my parents.
