May be mistaken, looking at the CC instrument cluster in pic's appears the oil gauge is of the light (idiot) type and not oil pressure. Possibly a ground issue, I have not come across sensor staying on when faulty?

Yes, the pressure increases with rpm. If it didn't, I'd have done something to fix it long ago.

Sorry Racer, I was referring to the truck Cody was talking about in the original post. I should have been more clear. As engelson just pointed out, we wouldn't know the answer to my question because that truck doesn't have a gauge. Reason I was asking is, if the oil pressure stayed reasonably high with the RPMs, I'd be tempted to drive the thing home in the cool quiet of early morning and take it from there.

Yep, if the truck Cody's talking about responds like you say, I'd probably drive it an hour, in the morning. With no worries.

That red idiot warning lamp was also used with the alternator, if it lights up, could be a loose fan belt. The idiot lamp oil sending unit was notorious for seeping oil, causing the idiot lamp on the dash to light up. |
Then there is the question of the asking price. For 1000,1500,2k,4k ????

From what I can determine from pic's, may consider $500, that's if the title is clean and VIN matches title. There's also the cost of towing which can run as much as $500? |
