Its a Dana 44 HD. This weekend I’ll see if I can move it around while it’s in the air. Thanks for the tip!

Anyone else have a cheap truck addiction? I just got this ‘75. 360FE, C6, 3.73 Dana 60, minimal options truck. The bed has had a camper on it it’s whole life so the bed is in perfect shape. Someone installed a sun roof though and the cab is a little rusty. The interior is fantastic though.

It hasn't run in 20 years so we’ll see what I can do. I might part it out or try to get it running. Either way I’ll have fun with it.

Small update: got a ‘72 F100 4x4 just for fun. Good parts truck but runs and drives.

I also got my blue truck on the road. New alternator, voltage regulator, and some small stuff. Drives like junk but it’s my junk :p

The crewcab brakes are next. I want to drive it!

Nice collection!!! I wouldn't part the brown truck, I would patch the roof. That is a nice solid truck, it looks like to me.

Love that Bumpside LWB 4X4! Love the blue Dentside LWB 4X4 too, especially with them turbine wheeles! Is it an F150 or F250?

I’ll have to post some close up pics of the brown truck. I believe it was in a front end collision. The hood and cab are a bondo mess.

And thanks! The blue truck is a F250. It’s pretty beat up but I really wanted a highboy and ‘76 is the best year in my opinion so I couldn’t pass it up!

Been making lots of small progress on the trucks. Swapped the new Holley from the red ‘72 to the blue ‘76 and it runs like a top. I had a battery cable issue so it’s currently non-op.

I’ve also spent some time trying to clean up the crewcab. I tried a product called Penetrol on the rough paint. It darkens the paint but doesn’t give it much shine. I think I’ll stick with polishing.

I still can’t break the engine loose on the brown truck. I’m leaning more towards using it as a parts truck. The bed and doors would be nice to use on the blue truck.

If the engine is locked up, remove all spark plugs and pour Coka Cola in the cylinders. Let that sit for 36-48 hrs. Then try to start or (if it's a 4 speed) try pull starting it. Coke is the trick for locked up engines.

Thanks for the tip. I’ve got Marvel Mystery Oil in them now but Coke might be the trick.

I traded my '78 280Z for a '49 CJ3a in high school with a locked up engine. I tried everything to unlock it. The whole town knew I was trying. I was at the gas station and an old man asked me if I had tried Coke yet. I thought, "What the hell, a 2 liter is only $1." Sure enough, that old man was right. I was driving that old Willys around the next day.

I have also heard you can weld a zerk to a spark plug base and force enough grease inside to move the piston. I would try that as a last resort, though.

I would also try Sili-Kroil, it is supposed to be one of the deepest creeping penetrants.

More small stuff:

Swapping more parts from the brown parts truck to Blueberry the highboy. Mostly interior parts. Still no luck on the motor but I have not tried the above suggestions yet. Too many trucks, not enough time!

I took Blueberry for a test drive with the new (used) tires. I got a pretty bad driveshaft noise so I checked it out when I got home. The slip joint at the rear driveshaft is loose and the u joint at the trans is totally shot. Somehow I didn’t loose the driveshaft on the drive.

Also check out the coil on my crewcab. It finally failed. It’s the original one though so I’d say it served its purpose.

Haven’t made much progress on the trucks recently. Most of my free time has been fishing. I did drain/replace the fluid in my transfer case. I also really need to get a new driveshaft for the blue highboy. I think the one in there is too short and the slip joint doesn’t have enough spline overlap.

Old Indian saying is "In Summer no fishing until Winter truck is ready for Winter" :D :-wink

I haven’t been following that rule :D However, I did get some work done today. I got my crewcab running after it’s 3 year rest. I really need some new fuel line (it has marine fuel line on it now) but it runs!

I also cut the mangled break lines at the master cylinder and reattached the fittings. I was able to reuse the old ones no problem. Now I just need to bleed the brakes and I’m good to go! I’m praying that none of the bleeders snap off :-X01

Lots of rain today so I didn’t get anything done. Some pics to keep the thread alive haha. A couple guys in a clean ‘96 bronco stopped by last weekend. Between the two of them they must have 8 old Fords. Always cool to meet other people “bitten by the bug”!
