Purchasing ESP warranty

Where is the best/cheapest place to buy ESP? Are there places that offer it cheaper or do I have to purchase it from my dealer? Thanks.

Google Zeigler Ford. There are probably others that offer it too at discounted prices. Just make sure it is the actual Ford warranty. You do not have to buy from your dealer and you don't have to buy the day you buy the vehicle. I do think you have to buy from a Ford dealer though.

One other thing I noticed. If you buy a CPO vehicle you can extend the warranty longer and for less money than you can if you buy a new vehicle.

Thank you Windell...I will check them out.

I toyed with the idea a month or so ago and decided against it. I did do a good bit of research and decided that Flood Ford had the best pricing in what I was looking at. Check them all out online. It's easy to compare. Flood Ford. Ziegler Ford. Anderson/Koch Ford. Champion Ford. Google Ford ESP and you'll also find others.

I will add that buying the 2.7EB was an unknown for me. Coming from a long line of V8 trucks, this new tech made me a bit nervous. Reading the few online horror stories about 2.7's didn't help. Then reality stepped in. People are a whole lot quicker to complain when something is wrong than to brag when things are good and I believe web forums such as this draw folks that are having issues all out of proportion to what's going on in the real world. In my engine's case I believe Ford has waaaay over built the 2.7 for it's intended use and most users will never have an issue.

Thanks David, Flood Ford in Rhode Island? That's where I bought my truck. I didn't price out ESP from them. I probably should have, haha.

I bought my warranty from Zeigler Ford over the phone. They were much cheaper than the quote I received from the dealership I purchased my truck from, and from the Ford. The warranty is a bonafide Ford plan too. I made them send me a copy of the contract before I agreed to purchase it to verify, and they did so without hesitation. I bought the Ford Protect Premium Care with a $100 deductible, 6 years/100,000 miles for $1,210. I would definitely recommend them.

I'll buy it when I get my next vehicle.

I've never been much of a player in the extended warranty game. But, two years ago I bought two new couches that have electric reclining controls. I paid about $3600 for the two pieces and I bought a $250.00 five year no hassle warranty. One side of one couch recently broke, the claims guy came out yesterday and I'm getting a new couch or a new under carriage, no questions. The warranty paid for itself.

Hello Coastie,
Thanks for the information. I will give them a call.

Does the time/milage to buy this warranty end?

Frantz 04-11-2017 08:44 PM

There is a very minor charge if you buy later on, but it's small enough that it's not even a deciding factor IMO. However, if you don't buy the warranty while it's still covered by the bumper-bumper factory warranty then the truck will have to go through an inspection to make sure things are on the up and up and not only will you have to fix anything, but you'd also likely be paying for the inspection. That inspection might not cost any more than the "late" penalty though so again, not a major factor.

yep exactly what I had to do. Expy was an 05, bought it used in 2012 with 89K miles. Found a dealer in OH offering ESP very cheap, he sent me the inspection paperwork etc. for the plan I picked, Ford dealer in town did the inspection, paperwork sent back to ESP offering dealer, he validated everything and ESP was purchased. Hassle free and affordable.

I just pulled the trigger on a 6 year 100,000, $50 deductable from Flood Ford... $1300 for a piece of mind, I think is well worth it.
