any ac upgrades recommended?

Is there a crossflow condenser or better drier for these trucks or are we just using the stock stuff? I was planning a compressor upgrade but I was wondering about a condenser or drier upgrade as well.

OK, so is this worth double a factory condenser and does it actually help? I was poking around and finding factory condensers for pretty cheap, is the becool that much better for another $100?

AC kits/upgrades

I am the original owner of a 1976 F350, 460 that was ordered with factory air. In 2004, the evaporator developed a leak. I replaced it with an aftermarket unit, and had the system modified for R134A. I kept the OEM condenser, which really was not suitable for R134A. In 2008 I decided to upgrade the OEM system to a "real" R134A system. Everything in the OEM system was replaced, except the evaporator. The York compressor was replaced with a Sanden unit. I bought everything from Arizona Mobile Air, INC. (ACKITS.com). This was an excellent company to deal with--very responsive customer service (they replaced the first condenser damaged in shipping immediately upon notification.) The "kit" I purchased had a clever adapter to mount the Sanden compressor to the orginal AC bracket. I wanted the appearance of this upgrade to be near the same as the OEM system, and it is except for the Sanden compressor. I had factory style hose fittings made up at a local shop here in NVA. I bent some welding rods to the forms needed for the new hard lines and had them made by a company in KY (I can't find name/address/URL).

I did the install myself, including flushing, evacuating, and charging with R134A. A couple of honest observations--the system cools much better than the OEM system, and no problems since installation, including leaks.

I'd contact ACKITS.com and ask their opinion re. a replacement condenser.
