Transmission question
Hi all,
so been searching around trying to find an answer for my question and couldn't find one so here go's, I know that average normal tranny temps for the new 6.7s are 200 degrees give or take which my truck does as well. but I'm wondering about how long is normal for the tranny temp to get up to that normal range? My truck can take anywhere from 20 minutes to almost an hour depending on if I'm on highway vs lower speed driving and it's been that way since I bought it. Am I worrying over nothing or my worries not just worries? any help would be awesome thanks in advance. |
Unloaded it can take quite awhile to get up to 200°....:-X22

Sounds normal to me, mine is the same

Your trans temp is going to take much longer to come up to the 200 degree range compared to your oil temp. I remember driving in MN last year and it took over 75 minutes at highway speeds for mine to come up to the 200 mark when the ambient temp was -30 degrees Fahrenheit. You are all good man.

Yep. as others mention, what you are seeing is completely normal.
