Lemon 2015 F150 Platinum
I have to let you guys know, trust me I think my truck is beautiful and I love all the accessories but Ford customer service (Elizabeth) said they don't care who I tell so here goes. I purchased a 2015 F150 Platinum and it has been nothing but a nightmare. The glass roof was leaking so I took it to the dealer 3x they finally replaced it. However it was still leaking so the whole inside of the truck got wet. They had to replace the whole wiring harness and computer. I left the truck at the dealer looking for a resolution from June 2016 - December 2016. They ended up sending it to auction without telling me, I had to pay 1200$ to get it back. Ford sent me to the dealer the dealer sent me to ford then to ford legal? You can only contact them via mail? I didn't hear anything back for 3months only to receive general paperwork on all issues I have had. The truck has spent probably a total of 3 months in service. I got the truck back in February. Now after a week the truck would not run properly engine light on again. I took it back to the dealer and it needs a new turbo and manifold. So far they have also replaced the radiator fans, fuse box, front camera, the rear back up sensors work intermittent, Bluetooth is intermittent, 110v adapter, the front doors don't open or unlock in cold weather (I have to crawl through the back doors if I'm lucky??), the exhaust leaks (they say it's normal?) the roof rattles like crazy and the drivetrain has a wining noise. This has been a complete nightmare I've received no support from Ford and have had to keep paying for a vehicle that is obviously majorly defective. I'm so discouraged and Ford doesn't care. I've bought over 10,000$ worth of accessories for the truck had the underside rubber coated to protect from rust I wanted to keep this baby for a long time. I hope no one had to deal with anything like this. Again please don't hate I just want you to know, if things go majorly wrong Ford doesn't care. The truck has 40,000KMs I am in Canada so no lemon law. I'm going to have to sell it so it will probably end up in the USA so some other poor person will be stuck with it. It's just not right.

Ok fist thing, sorry I left out I stopped making payments in October when I sent a letter to ford legal, asking for all the information and how we could solve these issues. So in December without my knowledge they brought the truck to auction. That's why it cost me 1200+$ to get it back.

Ok, second question, I didn't let it go because I was worried it would effect my credit, which it already has, and I would have had to pay the difference between what it sold for and what I owe. It ended up costing me over 8,000$ to get it back. My payments are 1200$ per month. 5 year term.

Next, like I said, Ford doesn't care who I tell, doesn't want to do anything so I want people to know what they can look forward to if they run into something like me. It's a horrible situation. I've invested lots of money into my dream truck and it's a complete lemon. I understand this happens, but that doesn't mean the manufacturer shouldn't stand up. I have no choice but to sell this truck and lose piles of money. Someone probably in the USA will end up with it and that's not right.

Northernf150platinum 03-22-2017 06:37 PM

It has 40,000kms, and like I said the dealer wasn't being nice, they didn't even tell me ford credit wanted to pick it up. They were notified and never told me. They waited the 2 weeks and when they showed up gave them the keys, even changed the battery because it was dead.

Next, from what I understand the drain on the passenger side was inside the truck, so water just kept coming in. When I got the truck going through a car wash water would poor in from the roof into the sides, it's supposed to be a drip. The computer is on the floor on the passenger side.

Next, I'm sorry I didn't respond quicker. I didn't have a chance and to be quite honest I'm extremely upset about the whole situation. Especially with Ford telling me they don't care who I tell. I spent some time spreading the news and have had a lot of responses
I've addressed. I'm exhausted, disappointed, discouraged and hurt. I have this beautiful looking truck that's a POS that I feel like I have no choice but to sell off. I can't continue to pay for something as unreliable as this and it hurts.

I'll try and respond quicker, again I'm sorry for not getting back sooner.

I had posted on facebook and was told I might be able to get help here. I'm just at a loss with everything that had happened.

May I ask which dealership? Also, not sure of your exact issues, but the sunroofs are a wet design sunroof. That meaning that they have rubber weathersreips down the centre and sides. Heavy rain pressure or car wash will allow water past the seals (normal) and into the rails or tracks that run down each side, those drain forward to tubes that run down your a-pillar and out in your front wheel wells. These drain tubes get plugged from outside debris and can act like a backed up getter. Apply shop air and clean them. Run a hose on your roof and water test, making sure all is functioning well. Hope all has been resolved, no one wants a dissatisfied customer
