Does your truck have the dual alternators and if not, what are you doing for power? Also what did you do for the back of your mid woofers, baffles or fast rings or ?? for moisture protection. I used the baffle enclosures and cut the bottom out to let more sound out but they still sound muffled at low volume. Nice build.

I competed in IASCA in the early 90's really heavy going to World Finals in OK a couple of times. My last "driver" system I built took me 9 months to finish lol. I couldn't imagine tearing apart my new truck with all the electronics in there to install another.
Look forward to updates! |

Look forward to updates! minimal cussing and nothing thrown yet, its been a pleasant build so far |
both fit with no issues in the back door boots, the front had to lose the extra insulation to fit in the molex plugs

Did you have to modify anything else beside the insulation to fit the wire through the door? Your post above doesn't seem like there was any issue but just want to make sure. I know my chevy I had to drill out a couple of unused plugs to get the wires through. I'm getting ready to do this similar thing to my truck at the end of May and it is nice to have a plan.

No sir nothing major, besides finding an acceptable turn on lead. I drilled the unused molex on the rear and ran both new wires, the drivers door was a royal pita. I had to strip the secondary insulation off to get it through.
i wanted the rear tweeters up higher in the door but it didn't work out because of the window regulator and having to drill a 2" hole through the door skin on small chance of being able to keep the wires safe. So I moved them just above the rear midbass. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...620ad8a205.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...70e11450aa.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...2dd101b933.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...f225f50129.jpgStill have to cut the floor mat and secure sub box https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...e355485098.jpg |
What'd you do about the 3" speaker in the center dash?
|
Unplugged it
|
Just wondering where you plan to store your jack and tools? I'm assuming you removed them based on component location. Build looks great!
