Best inline pre-pump filter for 7.3?
 

Hey I have a 7.3 diesel and I need a pre-pump inline fuel filter to protect my fuel pump. After removing the mixing screens in the tank, I don't have any form of filtration before the pump so if there is gunk in the tank it will get sucked through the pump.

I see inline filters all over the place but I don't know if they are rated for diesel and I don't know if they will work for the 60psi that the fuel system runs at.

I have a 5 dollar napa inline filter (5/16" line size) but I took it off and blew through it and it seems to slightly restrict flow. Not sure if it's a problem or not but if there is a specific filter everyone uses for this application I would like to have it.

One with a screen in preferred over a paper element to reduce restriction on the suction side of the pump. I used a WIX filter with a screen when first did the Hutch mod, but don't recall the part number. That was like 15 years ago and made many subsequent mods, eliminating it, since then.
