1998 F150 4.6L Error Code P442

I left my manual at work and won't be able to get to it for a couple of days. The light just came on today. Can anyone shed some light on what this one is?

the code p0442 means small evap leak, good place to start is to check your fuel cap is tight.

Thanks for letting us know what you found.
It's great when it's something simple like that :)
I had the exact same problem on an Explorer yesterday.

P0442 Troubleshhoting

Just Curious.. Ive had this code for some time now.. It went away in the winter months when the temp dropped to around -10C and the code never came back till spring and now it will haunt me until I find it.. I want to start looking at the fuel cap, but How do I ensure a tight seal is being made... should I be looking at fuel pressures throughout the entire fuel system, or should I limit it to a specific area..

at this point any info would be greatly appreciated..

Fuel Cap

Bigg Hands,
Did your fuel cap permanently solve the problem or did it ever come back>

Thanks,
Mike-G
