Steering Wheel Wear on F150??
I am a new owner of a 1997 F150 XLT with low mileage. The truck is in very clean condition. The interior is in great shape. There is only one problem that annoys me that I would like to fix.
The black surface finish of the steering is worn through on the top center... on the front surface. This exposes the foam core underneath. I don't like the look or feel of it... and I am concerned that the exposed foam will wear very quickly over time. Is this a normal wear item on Ford trucks??... seems a bit early for this type of wear. The rest of the wheel looks new. I could buy a new steering wheel from Ford parts... or find a leather cover kit that fits... or is there a way to repair the surface finish on the existing steering wheel. Any advice would be appreciated Brian |
