2016 Expedition EL Limited Is it Possible to Disable Rear Audio Controls
 

Hey all. I figured I would give the forums a shot. We just recently purchased a 2016 Expedition EL Limited and Love It. However, we have younger children who constantly mess with volume control and channel control. Is there any way to disable the rear audio control? Ford, the dealership or their direct number cannot tell me how to or if there is. Any ideas?

If you find out, please post up how. My kids are also on the verge of being banished to the third row seats if they mess with the audio again!

I will do, although I am beginning to think Ford dropped the ball on this, I have called through to both there sync group and their regular customer service number only to be told multiple times they have no idea if or how this can be done, seems like something so simple how could they possibly have not thought of this?

I wonder if it would all still function normally if it was unplugged. Of course that would involve getting in or under the console to see if there was a plug at all, but I agree it would be nice to disable.

I wondered about that but won't be disconnecting anything. On the older systems you held presets 3 and 5 at the same time to disable them. Hmmm.....

On the older head units pressing the 3 and 5 preset buttons together would toggle the rear controls, so that function was previously available. It's probably buried in there somewhere.

The 3 and 5 buttons do not work, tried that and 2 and 4 buttons.

I was more pointing out that the functionality was there before, so it is likely still there somewhere. I'd guess it is in a menu.

Did anyone figure this out?
