07 Expedition Electrical Issues
 

I have a 2007 Expy that has a few issues with wiring I'm assuming.

First, ever since I bought it a couple years ago, the left turn signal has flashed fast like a bulb was out. Back works front doesn't. Then, a few months later, the right front signal went out too, then it started working again. Went back and forth a few times and now has been out for a few months. Bulbs are good, I tried adjusting the steering wheel up and down with no luck, I actually replaced the multifunction switch and that didn't fix it either, so I took it back.

Now, a few weeks ago, I was away and let my sister drive it, when I came back she told me the headlights shut off one night while she was driving, said it started flickering like it had a short. Haven't had a problem with them since. Still no front turn signals though.

The only thing I can think of is it could be the Fuse box on the passenger side, I've heard they can get wet and have issues. Anyone have any ideas or experience with this?

SOLVED!!

One of the strangest fixes I've done. Went to re-check the fuses for the turn signal, while I was doing that I decided to flick the turn signal on and press all of the plugs going into the fuse box. Finally, I pressed on one and the right turn signal started working!

Grabbed the multimeter and started going down the line looking for pulses, turns out both signals were coming out of the fuse box, so it must be the plug. Stuck a small nail in the plug and jumped the connection, boom. Both signals worked!

These two pins are where the signal comes out of the fuse box for the turn signals

So, I stripped some spare wire, got a few strands of copper, and shoved in the plug in both slots, for left and right turn signal, and plugged it back in. Problem solved. Both signals work great!

Now I just hate that I waited 2 years to find this simple fix! Hopefully it can help someone else.

I have a 2007 Navigator and am a DYI guy.

Sure thing!

A short is errant contact between a conductor and something it isn't supposed to touch. You had an open circuit. Great fix regardless of what you call it.
