Anyone live in Oregon ?! Smog laws

I have a 1986 e350 with 460 motor.
Recently I have taken the belt off of the smog pumps and ac unit. The motor runs so smooth now. No more ticks everything feels great. I've read both sides of disconnecting the pumps.... I just want motor and everything taken off that I don't use. I don't like cruise control or ac etc. and now I want to take off the pumps and lines and do all that stuff... but I want to pass smog if I have to with that stuff outta there

as for the smog issue... since this van doesn't come with catalytic converters...
(end rant)
but what's the law here ? I've heard 26 years 25 years... I've heard that this van doesn't need to pass smog because of what it is and what year and the weight and I've heard the opposite.... I even asked the DMV people what the deal is with it and they didn't understand my question. They just kept telling me that it says my rage expire in march of this year.

So anyone know what the deal is ? I tried to to look it up on the dmv website but that stuff is confusing...

In the Portland area we have to go to the local DEQ facility and have a wand shoved up our tailpipe while they test the emissions at idle and at 2000 rpm. If you pass either test you get to hand over a pile of money for your 2 year license stickers. If your vehicle is 1975 or newer with gross weight rating of 8500 lbs. or less it needs to be tested. In the Medford area vehicles that are 20 years old or newer and 8500 lbs. or less GVW get tested.

They don't look under the hood so they won't notice the belt missing on the pump but they do walk around the perimeter of the vehicle with a mirror on a stick to check that your exhaust system is intact.

It probably isn't legal to disable your smog pump. If it is making noise it might be have bad bearings. Last year I had to replace the pump on my 1979 E-150.

About all I can add is that it depends on where the vehicle is registered. Vehicles registered in Portland or Medford are subject to testing.

Thank you Clem for the GVWs, I'll have to check mine.
