4 speed manual slip yoke question
 

im almost sure that my 1982 f100 has what is called a "NP-435" however im not sure. it has a 4 speed manual. anyways, when the driveshaft was removed on the truck for a potential freeze plug change it was never put back on and was threw on the back of the truck and laid in water for about 15 years so naturally its rusted all to pieces.

Im having a hard time finding one SPECIFICALLY for a 1982 f100, so my question is will ANY 28 spline yoke work in this transmission or am i gonna have to hunt and hunt to find one that came out of one of these trucks? i tried to do some research myself but came up fairly empty handed, i guess this isn't a normal issue lol.

Im guessing that you have the 300 IL 6 motor I would think that the drive shaft would be pretty easy to come by in a recking yard that depends what state you live in Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market this is a pretty good way to find parts

Measure yours - or the length needed if yours is too far gone - look at the yokes and then go shopping. Even finding one specifically from a 1982 F100 doesn't guarantee anything, what with the possible combinations and sizes used during the era.

What do you mean dude, I'm not typing a book my grammar doesn't have to be spot on perfect lol. I've been trying to explain myself the best I can so its easy to understand and I literally know nothing about fords, hell im only 18 and I barley know anything about anything. I'm trying to learn but when I research my "1982 f100 l6 4 speed" not much comes up I guess I'm gonna just go junk yard hopping and stay off these forums.

Are you sure it's a NP435, because there were TWO other 4 speeds available: Warner T-18 & RUG SR-OD single rail 4 speed overdrive.

The slip yoke won't be specific for a 1982 F100, it will have other applications as well.

But, you have to know for sure which tranny it is, because the slip yokes are different.
