I have heard that Restoration Specialties has these spring clips have you guys found them any other places

I'm back Roy, sorry I had to post and run like that . FYI, I do have the "CD" 1948-56 Ford Truck Master Parts Catalog. If you need it, PM me your address and I will mail it to you. You can keep it as long as you need. I haven't had much luck finding the clips so far on it, but you may do better since Im dyslexic.

Clip for 16720 mouldings shown in pic ^ as 358158-S / Clip for 16956 mouldings shown in pic ^ as 352191-S

The actual part numbers are:

352191-S3 =

CARPENTER NOS OBSOLETE PARTS in Concord NC has 141 = 800-476-9653.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
358158-S3 =

NOS PARTS LTD in Waxahachie TX has 4 = 972-937-2201.

CARPENTER NOS OBSOLETE PARTS has 162.

:( Parts catalog pics of standard (aka hardware) parts may not show the complete suffix.

Dennis carpenter sells some with the trim not separate I think I may have found them at Restoration Specialties I'll post their PN after I see if they work:-jammin

I found them at Midwest Early Ford, page 59 in the catalog I have (April, 2015). The were just like the original and worked fine.

Are washers or shim washers at the hinge
the hoods on both my trucks were not on the hinges and Jim exploded view does not show any

Suggest that you message 51panelman. Ilya has been collecting these parts for years and I think has the latest sources for clips. Also you can search this forum using the term "trim clips" and you will find lots of sources. The last that I saw was one recommended by AxRacer Restoration Specialties & Supply, Inc. | Windber, PA 15963

yes I'm getting some from restoration spec also some from DC(for spears)
