Shorting Out

Before I pop my own fuse, TELL ME I'm not losing it!
. Instead of adding to "factory fogs, how cute" thread, I figured might as well start new with wiring....anyway, here the scenerio

Using 2 relays, with 1 power/feed. Power enters first relay (5 spade) at 30, 87 feeds front light bar, 86 to switch(not hooked up), 85 to 85 on other relay which then goes to ground. 87a feeds second relay 30. That 87 feeds rear led lights, 86 to switch(not hooked up).
. My problem is, when I connect power to battery, the front led bar lights up, with no 86 hooked up...did I mess up my relay when soldering everything to the spades?https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...399fe25e3c.pngSay something about this photo

Tore relay adjust and find the winding had broke. Probably from heat..

You had me scratching my head because the light should not have been coming on. thanks for the follow up

Yeah, not only was the wire broke, but tugging n pulling on spades don't help either. Must've pulled on #87 to lay it up on #87ahttps://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...7fd6d328cc.jpgSay something about this photo

There is one more hitch in all of this: The power to the low beams is supplied when the high beams are OFF. I could be mistaken, but those look like Single Pole Double Throw relays. If so, 87a gets power with the relay OFF, and 87 gets power with the relay ON. Your second drawing is correct, but don't overlook the fuse before the relays.

I ended up getting 2-5blade relays and soldering the wires to the connectors and NOT to the spades. Lightbar, rear leds and cig/aux port worked perfect.
My "trigger" wire is actually hot all the time so I can use the lights with no keys.
