2007 F150 Fuel tank pressure sensor

The ole 5.4l hit a snag today. I was on my way to fill her up and she started sputtering and damn near died! i filled her up and it was like nothing ever happened. Took her to AutoZone and the diagnosis was a Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor.

Anyone ever changed on. I have a connection with Bumper-to-Bumper to get the part for cheap but I'm not sure if i want to dive into either moving the bed or dropping the tank. I'd prefer to move the bed. TIA

That doesn't make any sense. Unless you happened to run into a real auto technician that was moonlighting there (ask to see the ASE certification), the AutoZoners are simply parts drones who are reading off a computer screen and selling parts.

The FTP sensor cannot cause an engine to stall although it may have been reporting something related to the condition that did.

I assumed the diagnostic tool they use is to diagnose why the check engine light was on?

The scan tool is used to read whatever fault codes might be present in the system. It's then up to someone who knows what they're doing to actually interpret those codes into an actual diagnosis. The codes are only data points, they are not a diagnosis in and of themselves.
