Green Power's 2012 F-150 XL ECSB 5.0 4X4 "Ruby"

Hey guys, I'm a new member to the forum here, but been lurking for a while, I have a 2012 F-150 XL 5.0 purchased 6/8/16 with a tad less than 176,200 miles.
Here she is as purchased:

The pickup was used as a mobile storage unit till the end of July, then my car got rolled, and so my pickup became my DD.
The first order of business was to repaint the heavily rock chipped ranch hand bumper, so I decided to color match it.

Next I upgraded the front door speakers with J & L's, I need to do the back now, one is blown.
Then I put in a 30" Led Light Bar that a friend gave me. It took 6 hours to install, but would be easy to swap out. I want to put a triple row one in one day.

I would rather not repeat getting the dent in my bumper below the light bar. It was a lot worse though, but I went to a local welding shop, and used a porta power to push it out.

Next up was my 5.0 Coyote V8 door and tailgate badges.
That brings me up to current mods, although plan to get my 33" tires on my 18" chrome xlt wheels during winter break. Here's one of my favorite pictures of how the paint shines in the sunset, I love the color when it's clean.

Thanks for looking guys.

Welcome to the FTE, vary nice truck.
I had the same 5.0 decals on my 2011, and they faded out in just a few months. Hope yours last longer.:-wink

Thanks for the welcome Bob, actually driving a eco boost to school till Christmas Break. So my pickup is inside, but we'll see how the decals hold up next spring, and summer.

Well, I guess I forgot to post about my most recent mod last night, Color changing floorboard lights.

FTE Family- What is the best way to correct my speedo, and odometer for when I put 33's on? Can the dealer program it to a 33" tire? Currently running a 265/70/R17 which I believe is a 30" tall tire, and the new ones are 275/70/R18, which I believe is a 33" tire. If ther dealer can't program, do I have any other options? Or do I just need to use a gps to determine how far off my speedometer is at different speeds. Thanks for your help.

In other news I ordered some JDM Astar back up bulbs for the pickup!

Ok, so in doing some calculations and research, I have found the following.
1. My old tires are actually 31.5" tall =638 revolutions/mile
2. New tires are 33.2" tall =609 revolutions/mile
3. With the 33's assuming my dash is accurate now, when I have driven 100 miles on the dash, I will have actually driven 104.7xxx (638/609x100)
4. At 70 mph (speedometer) I will actually be going 73.3 mph. (638/609X70)
Can anyone confirm or deny if my calculations are correct so I avoid paying $100 at the dealer (or however much it costs to get reflashed)? Thanks!!!
Looking forward to see how it will sit with 33's, although I don't mind how it sits now other than the wheels.

Check your speedo with GPS. Unless they're in an emergency vehicle they are not accurate from the factory anyway.

I went from 275-65R18 to 275-70R18 and now my speedometer is accurate. I'm sure the odometer is off now but that doesn't bother me.

I do tend to believe my dash is pretty accurate currently, but I will check it again when I get home.

Odometer, yes. Speedometer no. Usually the speedometer will read slightly faster than actual vehicle speed from the factory. That has been the case with all the vehicles I have owned and checked. Ymmv

Id feel safe behind that bumper, what you pay for this red beauty? What rear gears does it have?

I imagine it would do well vs. a deer, although I don't want to try it out. It's got the 3.55's.

That's what I'm thinking, plenty more in the future, I plan on keeping this pickup to 300k.

Green Power 12-19-2016 10:36 PM

Well the 33's are on, and I'm in love with them. The wheels and tires transform the look of the whole pickup. It has been bitter cold the last few days (-19 at night, and 0 during the day) but finally went above freezing today, so it started to get filthy. When the roads dry up in a few days, I'll wash it use quick detailer, and clean the interior.

Wow! Truck looks good Green! I'm subscribing. I can't wait to see what else you got in mind for it. Those 18" chrome PVD wheels look good on there. I was looking at a set of those on Craigslist for mine this past summer, but I wanted the ones that I do have. Mine are the chrome steels that came off a 2007 XLT. I bought all four with tires for $200. The tires were junk so I had them taken off right away and the wheels sat until I had time to clean them real good and put a decent set of tires on them. I found a set of used Cooper Discoverer A/T3's that were practically new! Paid $420 for them out the door, installed.:-jammin
