Build time, ETA
 

Ok, as I"ve posted on several threads, ordered 2017 SD/CC/SB/6.7 Lariat on 10/3. Dealer said expect 8-12 week wait. Last week was told by salesman ETA was 11/22. Pleasantly surprised, checked build status via chat couple times, truck has remained in "production" status for a week, and ETA changed from 11/22 to 11/25. Will be calling salesman tomorrow. Thoughts, opinions, Jace, Epic, anyone? Several threads have indicated build times of 24 hrs. mol. Just curious, not losin my mind. Yet. Lol.

"In production" is a general category. It's not specific i.e. being built right then. My truck was listed as being in production until...today. Just found out it has been released for transportation aka shipment. Truck VIN was assigned middle of OCT and sticker was issues 31OCT if that gives you any idea.

Thanks Saluki, bout what I expected, figured the early ETA was too good to be true.

Did you order the spray in bedliner? Truck will sit at body company 10-14 days to get this done instead of being immediately released to shipping on the build day.

I don't know why it takes them so long to spray the liner. Ford does very little prep, wipe down, tape and spray. Mine is getting done at Linex through my dealer for $400 if I remember correctly plus $100 for the UV coat. They fully sand and remove lights etc. Already had the running boards done and will have to get them mounted first day home so Susie can get in without a step stool. Or maybe I should play porter and set the stool in place at every stop!:-X22

Yea, I ordered the spray in liner.

Or more...apparently mine was released to the body company on 20 October, and my ETA was November 10th..."Was" is the keyword there, as that has come and gone, and nobody knows where it is.

It still shows ETA 10 November, and it hasn't been updated since October 20th. This is my first Ford vehicle, and my first time ordering a vehicle. This whole process is very frustrating...I am not having fun at all.:'(

I hear ya bro. I been a ford guy my whole life, but last time I ordered new was 1994, there were no web sites, forums, threads, etc, ya put up a deposit and waited for dealer to tell ya come get it. In a way wer all spoiled with technology, but it can be frustrating as well. I was quite content with end of year delivery, as that time frame was what I been used to, then salesman sez early ETA, ya get all jacked up, then delays start, n we get disappointed. Frustrating, but I would rather be delayed than be delivered a vehicle with issues, jus hope when I get it, it"s right. Hope urs is as well.

Got onto the Ford Employee forum this evening. Sounds like the plant is a mess with regards to production and parts supply.

Ok just checked with chat and my truck has been sent to a transport company to be shipped. The The delivery at at my dealership is 11/21 just like the ETA. Apparently it is being trucked across the country or railed to California to make the delivery date. Finger crossed-Toes Crossed:-jammin:-X06

wasn't true in my case. Truck was built 9-8. And arrived at my dealer on 9-17

Just curious, did you ordrer spray in bed liner? Several folks believe this delays build.

my dealer has told us that the spray-in bedliner will delay the delivery date by approx. 14 days as this is not done @ Ford but is subcontracted out to someplace in the Louisville area, hence the delay. Our dealer will have ours done locally the day after delivery. ETIS on our 2017 F250 SuperCab 4x4 longbed still shows a build date of 30.11.0002. Our dealer has advised us that its born date should be this week. Will the build date currently shown @ ETIS be changed when it is actually built, & will ETIS show an anticipated ETA? If not, then is there another link to find out that info ---- not that we don't trust our dealer but this Forum has been so much more informative than anyplace or anyone else?
