Gatorbacks on a 2017 F350 SRW

I just put a set on my truck today and they went on nice. I used the no drill brackets and went with 26" flaps up front and the 26" on the rear. I also just went with the plain stainless piece on the flaps, I'm not a fan of further advertising.

The ones that come from Ford are 23" front and 26" rear to compensate for the stock rake on the trucks. I measured to the floor and on mine the fronts are 1.5" lower than the rear and they look good, I don't think I'd want the fronts to be any shorter. In a couple years when I level it they will be almost even.

I think the no drill brackets are worth the extra $150 over drilling into your body panels. They went on pretty easily, highly recommend.

I went with the plain Jane Weathertech rear mud flaps going for the no-Chrome look. I will live with the Ford fronts till my first tire change, I expect to go bigger on both front and rear (F450).

I have the Gatorbacks. I bought through Sharp Truck. Love them.

My thoughts... they're way over priced. $700 is ridiculous for mud flaps. Where are the Chinese when you need them?

Boilermaker374 11-13-2017 09:36 AM

I didn't pay $700 for mine... bought them thru dealer and if I remember correctly they cost around $500...yes a bit pricey but my thoughts are there worth every penny and not Chinese junk... You get what you pay for.

I didn't pay $700 for mine either. I think they were just under $500. Sharp Truck also told me the Gatorbacks come with a lifetime warranty...if you back up on a curb and rip one off they will send you a new one. They use virgin rubber and you can feel the quality of the material. It may take a bit more work to install them compared to the Weathertechs (and I am a weather tech fan) but again...in the end...you get what you pay for.

OMG! For FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS, the flaps better install themselves AND have free replacement when the Ford emblem fades. Y'all can talk up $125 per flap as "quality", but it's a piece of rubber, not gold. Even if it came from a virgin!

Well anyone crazy enough to spend $85,000 on a pickup better not balk at $500 mud flaps. So I am a crazy F450 owner and I did spend $600 on my Gatorbacks and am quite pleased with them and the quality is significantly better than anything else out there.

Well, while I might agree there daVincidoc, I may have to eat my words. I'm finding them cheaper, and they sure do look nice. Considering I plan on running this rig for a bit, I think I could see the value in these. I had no idea... 1/2" thick? Wow!

Redrockerstl55 11-13-2017 09:48 PM

They are sweet flaps. The stainless steal emblems are a nice added feature also. Those are worth a few bucks too.

I cant decide between the Gatorbacks vs the kind that attach to the hitch receiver. The hitch mounted kind seem to offer better protection for the trailer, but they're not integrated and you probably wouldn't run them unless you're towing.

I like this one a lot:

500 bucks, $500 shumcks. It's too much money.

For the record, I paid $700 for mine. The dealership said they were giving me them at a huge discount. Yes, I'm still mad at myself for that one.
