4wd conversion

Hi guys I've bought a Dana 44 TTB IFS front diff for my f100, in just wandering does 2wd steering linkages, and front coil springs good to use on the ttb 4x4 front will it all fit up perfectly?

Also with the dana ttb diff, is there anything to look out for as in, seals and uni joints axles, hub assembly ect, it is a second hand diff but I've been told it's in good working order, Would be good if someone could help thanks

Should bolt in. Coil springs can be re-used.

Guys can you put a transfer case adaptor on a 2wd c6 gearbox and then bolt on a transfer case

Most if not all 4x2 auto trany have a different output shaft, too long, so it would need to be changed out for a 4x4 output shaft.

Now because the output shaft is the last to come out and first to go in on a rebuild you are rebuilding the trany.

... or just using a divorced transfer case and having shafts made.

Lots of fab work involved in that. Frame mounts, shifter adaptation, etc. It has been done but it's not a bolt in, the factory never offered that 1980-up.

Just warning the original poster about this option.

Why isn't there a 'snark' emoji?

It's a C6...
How hard could it be to find a 4wd version with a TC already attached?
(he did say he bought the diff, but nothing about a transfer case)

He is in Austrailia so who knows how their trucks were equipped over there. But I am sure they had 4x4. So like over here, it would probably be easiest for him to buy a donor 4x4 and swap the parts over.

I've bought a ttb front dif to bolt into 2wd frame, now I'm going to have to buy a 4x4 c6 box with transfer bolted to it and throw it under the truck, Also does the stock 2wd gearbox crossmember fine to use when I get a 4wd c6, can it be re used?

No F100 sold in the US/Canada after 1976 was available with 4WD

1980/83 F100's were available with 4WD in Mexico. What occurred in South Africa and "down under" with these trucks, I dunno.

Wherever you get the trans and transfer case, look around and get the 4x4 shifter, the front and rear driveshaft and the crossmember. You might want to get some of the wiring also that goes to the transfer case. Then you can get your 4x4 lights working.

If you want to do this in steps, you can go ahead and install the ttb frontend and drive around with that in 2wd till you get time and money to install the trans and other stuff.

Yeah but can I use my stock crossmember on the 4wd c6, because it's the same gearbox but it just has a transfer case on it,
