Horn Pad
I have a 1986 F150 XLT Lariat in very good condition. The problem I have is not wanting to start (ignition won't engage) when cold and as I've read here it is probably petrified lube in the steering column. I want to pull my steering wheel before winter but it seems that I am going to break my horn pad if I keep at it. How is the horn pad & cruise control panel supposed to come off?
Thanks all |
Two phillips head screws hold it on, one on each side. They go in through the back side of the steering wheel. Remove them and it should come right off.

There are just two screws, one on each steering wheel spoke. Perhaps a PO glued yours on for some reason?

Thanks guys - I will try it tonight
