Advice on truck purchase?

Hey what's up guys, normally hangout in the OBS 7.3 section.
Been looking for a 7.3 to drive in the winter. My OBS is mint and I don't drive it in the winter. That liquid salt stuff kills everything. Anyways, I found a 99 F350 7.3 6 speed extended cab long bed for sale for $2,000. Owner says it needs manifolds, and glow plugs. Has 230k miles on it. What should I be looking for? My biggest concern is manifolds. I know they're a royal PITA and I want to make sure the bolt hole castings didn't rot off the block. Anything else I should check for besides the obvious and blow-by? Thanks! Attachment 214256 Attachment 214257 Attachment 214258 Attachment 214259 |
At $2000 I would probably look past most things except for the obvious like blowby or a dusted turbo. Most things can be fixed, especially for that price and if you are just looking for a winter daily driver.
