Repairing 1990 F150

Hello guys/girls,

I am new to this forum, but I am looking to find any sites that I can purchase a new whole bed. I have replaced the whole suspension along with basic maintenance (oil, spark plugs and wires, air filter, ect.) I purchased this truck for pretty cheap in Jersey but it was pretty beat up. There is a lot of rust in the rear panels and bed so I figure it would be easier to just replace the whole thing instead of welding in new ones. I also will go to junk yards to see what else I can find but I already know that fords are notorious for having panels rust out. Nice meeting you all and thanks for the help!

Sincerely,

Drive to Commiefornia. Bring a friend. Buy a parts truck. Swap beds in a parking lot. Sell the parts truck with you old bed to someone else for $300 less. If you sell it to a local, the colors match and it has a bed liner chances are they're not used to looking for rust and won't good look at the bed and you can sell it for almost exactly what you paid (honesty be damned). In that case you'd just be out a few hundred for the trip and the few hundred it takes to get the parts truck to sell quick. You could also drag the parts truck back if you have space for it in NJ.

And for ****s and giggles post pics. Chances are what you call rusted is fairly clean to some of us.

As it was improperly posted by the previous member (you might want to rephrase that one sidewards), your best bet is to hunt for a bed in a junkyard. As for sites that could sell you parts you're unable to find, maybe LMC could be of help, but they're an expensive source.
