Stopped by my dealer tonight...
Had 4 in stock that I could find. Very high inventory place so there may have been more somewhere hiding. A couple observations then some pics. First is I have to say the again, perception in 9/10ths of reality. I saw these 4 trucks setting next to over 200 2016's. To my wife and I they DO NOT look huge compared to the outgoing generation at all. Different, yes. Larger, absolutely not. I also brought my tape measure and found quite a few interesting things. There were no 4" blocks on any configuration. The standard 250 without the HD Tow Pkg and the DRW trucks both had 3" blocks. The SRW 350 had 3.25" blocks. So, the whole idea of swapping blocks to gain or remove height is not going to work as .25" is so minimal, it's not worth it. We also noticed the fit and finish was not at all up to par yet on any of the 4 trucks. Door jamb and panel gaps were all screwy. I tried to get photos but it's tough to show bad gaps on phone camera. Lastly, while the bed rails are higher than the current generation SRW 350, the bed floor measured exactly the same as my 2012. 39". So hitch height would be the same but would have less squat with the new spring pack. You would loose bedrail to RV clearance though with the bed rails being 1.5" taller from the bed floor than the current generation. (Not an issue for me as I have over 8" now...) Anyways, tomorrow we are going back when they are open to drive the white DRW 350 Lariat and the red SRW 350 King Ranch. I'll get more pics tomorrow if anyone is interested...

Hey Rodney, thanks info. Please focus on how the ride is at highway speeds between the two. Glass smooth, jiggly, or somewhere in between.

Nah, I'm way too picky and none of these trucks are anywhere near what I'd order. I also wouldn't buy a new truck at the end of the RV season and right before the ice snow and potholes start. The test drives are only to get a feel for the DRW vs. SRW size and ride quality. |

You and I did the same thing today. I crawled all around a 17 F-450 Platinum ($83k!)..
The interior is nice. I did not drive it because comparing how a 450 and a Ram 2500 drives is not reasonable. I liked how roomie the back seat was, but the paint (Black) was not something I'd be very proud of with my 80,000 dollar truck. I'm not bashing anything here...but I was expecting a little better with the interior. I didn't feel like it was leaps over my current Fiat. I did like that there's more room in the passenger footwell vs the old truck and my Fiat. I don't know where the wooden steering wheel went on the Platinum, but I don't approve of it being gone in this truck. I liked it in my 2014 and my Fiat. The wooden steering wheel allows the steering wheel to stay cleaner. 30k miles and I don't have that shiny leather look you get from the grease on your hands. I would say though that I was impressed at what this dealer orders for dealer stock. I'm surprised at the poor alignment of the panels. They all look like they've been in an accident. I wouldn't put up with that on a repair, much less a new $80k truck.

Yes the quality on the panel fit is definitely disappointing. It's hard to believe those got past the QC process on a brand-new truck model with all the new modern technologies including lasers and computers.

Rodney, I would be interested in pics of the king ranch 350, interior, exterior, window and door stickers. Your thoughts on comfort of the seats, also how well the massaging and cool features work. Thanks!

Thanks for the pictures Rodney.... I recall Ford had door alignment issues with the F150 when they started production.

We heard about panel fitment issues from the early run. But we also heard that they had a team out correcting them. It's disappointing to see some of these getting away and into the wild and I would personally rather suffer a "return to plant" delay if my truck's panels or paint weren't up to snuff. For everyone waiting for their orders and are frustrated by delays, maybe it's a good thing.

Finally saw a couple in person at my local dealers have to honestly say it was a meh experience for me. I mean they are nice and all but I think sharing same cab as F150 sorta deflates the prestige of the Superduty brand. Aside from sitting significantly higher and the longer beds you'd be hard pressed to tell em apart. Perhaps thats what Ford intended same truck but with different abilities being the denominator.
