fuel tank selector valve screen / filter location?
Sorry to keep making new posts but there doesn't seem to be a single post on the Internet with this as the subject.
I was told there is a screen or filter on our fuel tank selector valves that get clogged. Where is the screen? Is it inside the plastic body of the valve? Is it before u get to the valve itself? Any if would be helpful, thanks. |
Hmm. I have never heard that before. Maybe they were talking about the pickup sock/shower head in the tank? If you searched the whole internet and couldn't find any matches that may be another indicator that it does not exist.
If it does exist, I have never heard of anyone having trouble with it |
pickup sock/shower head in the tank breaks and gets stuck in the valve from what I have read
|
inside the fuel tank at the end of the pickup tube. 35$ for a new one. doubt its clogged. its about the size of beer can end and is just a screen. they brake off the pickup tube and can cause loss of pickup of fuel when the fuel gets lower than the tube but not much.

Ok thanks guys. It sounds like I got 2 different things confuzd. I must have read something saying there's a screen in the tank, sometimes the selector valve gets plugged. And put the two together. Anyway thanks again.

There is a screen in the fuel pressure regulator.

^^^ this may be what you were thinking of. It is inside of the fuel bowl. it can become dirty and need cleaning. It is pretty easy to do.
