A Big Thanks to All Here - Saved $900!

Figured I would pop in and say a big thanks to everybody on this board for sharing their knowledge for all to learn from. Over a year ago I bought a pre-bled clutch master/slave assembly (PF9021 I believe) after reading about how it is recommended to change out when swapping out the clutch. I swore I was going to have to swap it out due to a bent clutch fork. Well, the other day I could not even get the truck to go into gear, and on top of that the thing decided not to start when I went to go to my grandparents' house for supper.

Well, I remembered reading about how the starter bolts work themselves loose and had been meaning to check them... lo and behold there was only one loosely holding the starter in. Got it meshed and tightened the one to get me running through until morning when I got back into work to get another bolt. This was when I decided to see if the hydraulic assembly I have had laying around for a year and a month (To the day, believe it or not!) would help anything. Well, in short... Clutch works fine now and will hopefully last until the clutch fork totally breaks and I have a nice fat wallet to do everything properly.

I am actually very happy that both fixes were easy and I was back on the road heading to supper in about 20-30 minutes. Now, this brings me to a question for the community - Does anybody know of a place with some decent parts trucks? I am looking for some misc. items (including body panels, plan to eventually repaint) and every yard around here is basically bone dry. Had a lead on an 04 but the guy never responded to my inquiries, not even to say if the thing was already sold or not. I at least know almost 90% of what is currently for sale on Craigslist in the way of Ford parts in VA and the surrounding states!

Parts truck lead or no lead, another big thank you to everybody here! Glad I am able to be involved with and give back to this amazing brotherhood!

Nothing like expecting the worst and it being an easy free fix. These trucks are a little qwerky but they are a beast when they are right. Pulled the camper today up to a state park in north Ga for a long weekend. Not even a hiccup. When mine is pulling a grade with 9-10k in tow, it's hard to get the permagrin off my face.

This site is EXCELLENT. All the Forums.

It's made me money over the years. When the normal troubleshooting process failed me.

I just did a search and FTE always popped up. I would say 70% of the time there was a solution or a process in addition to what was written in the WSM.

Ive only been here for a short time but this forum is one of the best I have been on. Great advice especially if you can do the stuff yourself. I'm really impressed with the sound advice... Now I'm going to check my starter bolts! :-drink Red Locktite?

This site has been invaluable since I joined yrs ago. Over the yrs with all the help, advice, pics, procedures, and video tutorials from the members here, I estimate that I have saved well north of $10k since I found this site shortly after I purchased my truck. This place is hands down one of the best places on the net.
