80/86 Factory Tachometer Help
Well I've decided that I'm gonna put EFI on my 302 in my 85 bronco, and I'm gonna be using the setup from a 89 mustang gt, and I was wondering if anyone knows how or has run the factory tachometer with that set up. Lmk thanks Chris

Hello,
A gauge cluster with a tachometer is plug-and-play. All of the wires and connections already exists in the vehicle and are ready to go. All you have to do is find a gauge cluster with a tachometer and swap it in and you're done. This is also a good time to get a resetable tripometer if you want one. :) Otherwise, you can keep your current miles, etc. by swapping over your current gauges. Main reason you can't just put a stock tach in your current dash is because the only difference between a tach and non-tach vehicle is the printed circuit board on the back of the cluster, and those are riveted on quite well. |
Oh My bronco already came with the tach from the factory, I just wanted to know how hard it would be.
