Picked up a Centurion Four Door Bronco today!

Today I picked up a 1995 C150. It has a 351 and an auto. I have been looking for one of these for a long time. The day that I found out about it, I looked at it and made a deal to buy it within 2 hours of locating it. Here are some pictures:
Attachment 217698 http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/...psdklqbyub.jpg http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/...psa4abwg1t.jpg I have never seen dual tanks like this on a 4 door, only the rear tank works on it, it seems pretty small, and the spare tire hangs below it. Attachment 217699 I'm not loosing the roof battle, but I'm not winning either. It doesn't leak near the seam, but the windshield leaks a little, getting a little rusty there too. Attachment 217700 Attachment 217701 So far today, I have washed it, changed the oil, changed the air filter (a mouse destroyed it), removed the purple tint on 2 windows, removed a bunch of random bolts from where the fender flares/running boards were ripped off, removed the ugly bug guard, and did a lot of cleaning in it. before and after: Attachment 217702 After an hour wash, it was very dirty! The paint shines now though! Attachment 217703 I have a lot of plans for it, and will be starting a build thread soon. |
Cool. I remember the first time I saw one of these. It was in a junkyard. At the time I never knew that these were a thing, I thought it had been homemade.

Centurions are awesome!
Looks like you have quite a rust battle ahead of you, but the rest of it looks like it's in really good shape. Have fun with it. :) |
I hope you are really, really good at cutting and welding sheet metal. If not, you will be after you spend a few thousand hours on this.

Congrads, I have never seen one in person, only picture good luck. TR

Thanks guys! Rust repair will be starting soon, I just need to order a few more patches, and some POR 15

Updates!

I have a couple updates for you guys,
I replaced the rusty muffler with a glass pack, and built some new hangers Attachment 215336 Swapped on a rust free tailgate (with matching paint!) We had to dissect the old one with a sawzall, it was completely junk. http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/...psb3b4xt6v.jpg We only had to cut 2 of the top braces (bottom of the pic) and the whole thing just pulled out. Attachment 215337 One hinge was rusted completely solid. It stayed on the truck when the tailgate fell off. I hit it with PB Blaster for a few days, and broke it loose. I picked up a used set of hinges, and restored them. Sandblasted, primed, painted. Attachment 215338 Here is the results of the swap. We are still working on getting the switch to work, but I can get the window up and down with a battery in the back now. Before the swap the window was stuck down 3 inches and rusted in place. Attachment 215339 I also bought a parts truck for $250 and stripped the front end. I have all the parts I need for my front end conversion. Attachment 215340 And today I picked up a set of used tires and rims that are in better shape for $150 Attachment 215341 |
Looks like you are making pretty good progress bring that unique beast back to DD condition.

http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7z3tjqwp.jpg I am just waiting on rockers and inner wheel wells from Tabco, and I need to find someone willing to cut part of the gas door area out of a bed. I am actually very frustrated with Tabco. I ordered my parts over a month ago, and they still haven't shipped them to me :-huh:-huh. Their customer service is terrible, and they want to charge me more money for shipping now. :-X19 |
Sorry..wrong thread

don't think the dealer really built it some limo co. i think. They used the back doors fron F-350, at that time F-350 was only 4 door. I really like it the ride was way better than i would have thought. at one time their were 3-4 in the DFW area.

Completed my bumper swap. The sport bumper is from an 86 Bronco, it was taken off in 1988, and was in storage till last year, when I bought it for my 85. I never got around to putting it on, and like this style better, so I decided to put it on the 4 door.
http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/...psedm5q4ph.jpg I also took off the receiver and an abortion of a trailer harness Attachment 214605 Attachment 214606 Before and After Attachment 214607 I didn't realize how far the spare hung down until after I mounted the new bumper... my 85 didn't have a spare there. I will probably just keep the tire behind the back seat when I swap in a 32 gal rear tank. I also picked up a set of these Attachment 214608 And my rockers and wheel wells finally showed up, so I dropped off the bronco at my friends shop on Sunday for him to weld all the metal in. I should have it back in a couple weeks. Attachment 214609 And finally, here's a picture of it with the new wheels mounted up. I took it up to a mud bog last weekend, and pulled the Honey Hauler up there for my buddy. Attachment 214610 |
