The Hillbilly Stretch-Limo (my 6-door Superduty project)

Some of you may remember my old truck, an 02 F350 CCSB 4x4 powerstroke. It was ugly and mean, almost perfect! But then a drunk driver ran a red light doing 80mph and annihilated it (along with my left arm.)

I'm mostly healed up, I have a kinder, gentler 02 F350, and I'm itching for a new project. So far I have a 6-door cab built from the front of an 06 lariat and the back of an 02 xlt. I traded some guns for this and it's pretty good, not perfect. The door gaps are spot on, but the welds aren't as pretty as I'd like:

I have the frame from an 09 crew cab short bed, and another frame from a 2000 crew cab short bed:

Finally I found the drivetrain donor: The Hiphopopotamus, a 2006 F550 with a 6.0 PSD:

This is going to be a ton of work, but also a ton of fun!

I am in with watching this. Got my Idea on a 4 door 52 Pilot house dodge that needs a donor from a Late model Dodge 3500 DRW with the Cummins

Ford use to make 6 door trucks. Most were 550 or 650 models. Ought to be fun. Hope you can get it built and on the road.

I'll watch also. Hope all the work doesn't kill the arm :-drink

Man, and I'm wondering if I can do some floor-pan replacements in my 79' and I see the project you are undertaking!

Best of luck and look forward to seeing the progression of the project.

Also subscribed! I definitely want to keep up with your progress. You have a heck of a lot more ambition than I have! Can't wait to see your progress and the finished product.

I bought The Hiphopopotamus F550 last Friday for CHEAP because it didn't run. The previous owner suspected the FICM. I used my ELM327 scanner ($10 from Amazon) and Torque for Android to verify low FICM voltage while cranking. I pulled it and resoldered the pins. That solved the low FICM voltage, but it still wouldn't start. I noticed that the HPOP was only building about 250psi while cranking, so I replaced the IPR. Success! It starts and runs!

That's what I was wondering too. }>

Super cool looking project. It'll be really interesting to see how it progresses. Thanks for taking the time to document and post it.
