95 ford powerstroke turbo rebuild
Hi, i need anyone and everyone's advice on 360 thrust bearing upgrade for my stock turbo. Ok i bought a rebuld kit from sp turbooost and well the new bearings are loose, looser than my bad bearings. Is something else bad that im not seeing or getting, i am going to call the company tomorrow and see what they can do.

It will be loose till you get oil in it.
Flip the turbo over and fill it with oil then check the shaft play again |
It's true, the sleeves need oil pressure in order for the shaft to 'float'.
I used the SP turbo boost kit for my rebuild, everything works great so far. |
You should have movement but not a lot, fill it with oil and try it again.
|
After i rebuilt my turbo i put it back in my truck, and fired it up and i let ot idle for 15-20 min and then i took it for a drive and well not even 2 min later it started scraping. So i parked my truck in my barn and pulled the turbo, my inlet housing is not in good shape now and my exhaust wheel is tore up. And my old bearings fit the shaft better than the new ones. Im not sure what to do???

What was the reason to rebuild it?
|
Your center cartridge is shot or the shaft was out of balance.
Same ? as Mike what was the reason for the rebuild. |
i basically blew my turbo, i had already known the bearings were weak when i did ebpv delete. and well i waited until it got worse
|
Was the compressor wheel contacting then ?
|
yes, my inlet housing or (boost side)
|
Inlet and boost are the same side.
Compressor in air in. Turbine is exhaust out |
actually both were rubbing
|
|
i already answered you, both sides of the turbo turbine and compressor were rubbing
|
Then your center section is trashed. You'll need a new turbo
